Screenworks expands Regional Producer Elevator Program

Screenworks’ annual Regional Producer Elevator Program has been expanded to all of regional NSW.

The program, delivered by the Northern Rivers-based film and television body and supported by Create NSW and Screen Producers Australia, is designed to give regional producers the chance to develop professional skills, get access to key industry contacts and overcome the hurdles faced when living regionally.

Two successful producers will be selected to participate in the program, which includes attended at SPA’s Screen Forever Conference in Melbourne in November, $3,500 to invest in career development and support from Screenworks throughout the year.

“Since we introduced the program in 2016, we have been receiving many requests from filmmakers across NSW wanting an opportunity to participate in the program,” said Screenworks general manager Ken Crouch.

“Screenworks has been working incredibly hard to develop its capacity and are delighted to now be in a position to open this program to all of regional NSW.”

“We know that this program achieves results – participants from the program have gone on to be selected for Screen Producers Australia’s One To Watch Program and invited to pitch at the Australian International Documentary Conference. They have also had the opportunity to develop their own projects and receive advice and support from some of Australia’s leading producers.”

The program is open to producers of all genres, but is best suited to those in the early stage of their career who can demonstrate initial success and are committed to building their skills as a professional producer in regional NSW.
