Press release from SGL
SGL, a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, has further strengthened its relationship with Australia’s Nine Network. Following the installation of a FlashNet archive in Nine’s main Sydney facility, SGL was asked to provide its archive solution to the network’s new East Coast centralised playout facility at French’s Forest in Sydney.
Through its strong partnership with respected systems integrator Gencom Technology, SGL supplied a FlashNet archive solution, which integrates to Harris servers and a Sony Petasite library utilising LTO-5 technology. This is one of the first deployments of LTO-5 in Sydney providing vast storage capacity with the necessary flexibility for expansion. Channel Nine engineers worked alongside partners including Harris and Gencom to deliver the SGL solution, and a world-class facility.
“Gencom is pleased to have been able to deliver a further archive solution to Channel Nine and to have participated in the rollout of the new French’s Forest facility”, said Ray Sanders, Gencom CEO.
Bernie Walsh, SGL’s Worldwide Sales & Joint Managing Director adds, “We are delighted to continue our strong relationship with Nine Network by providing an archive solution in the new East Coast facility. This installation highlights SGL’s continued commitment to the Asia Pacific region.”
