Shooting Kill Me Three Times in Western Australia, Simon Pegg is providing a witty running commentary on working with co-stars Sullivan Stapleton, Alice Braga, Teresa Palmer and Bryan Brown.
In Kriv Stenders’ crime thriller, the English actor plays an assassin who’s hired to kill a singer (Braga) by her wealthy husband (Callan Mulvey).
Stapleton plays a gambling addict who attempts to pay off his debts through a risky life insurance scam. Palmer is a small town Lady Macbeth who masterminds the scheme. Brown is a corrupt cop who also tries to get his cut.
Pegg, whose credits include The World’s End, Star Trek, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, comments on Twitter almost daily as the shoot progresses.
After he arrived in Perth, he Tweeted: “Beautiful day in Perth, WA. I might even leave the hotel, if I can find the exit.”
Last week he observed, “Just shot my first scene with Aussie legend, Bryan Brown. Building up to discussing F/X Murder by Illusion. What a guy.”
"I imagine at some point, I will stop saying 'wow, cool' at the kangaroos I see on my way into work. Not this morning though."
This week he Tweeted: “Having an M.I.A. kinda day now. Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well.”
“Alice Braga and Sullivan Stapleton are pretending to be miffed and acing it.”
As he sat in the make-up chair: “To everyone who expressed dismay at the tattoo artist not wearing gloves, please don't worry, she's not a tattoo artist."
“Having a splendid afternoon acting with @tez_palmer. It shouldn't work, I kill zombies and she dates them.”
Hopscotch eOne will release the thriller next year.
