SPAA holds talent assist, pitching competition

This year’s SPAA Conference in conjunction with Showtime, Holding Redlich and Screen Australia will provide producers with the opportunity to pitch their projects to VIPs from both the local and international screen industry.

The Conference will host the following initiatives:
• 2008 Showtime Talent Assist Scheme, a short film competition, allows for one lucky producer to showcase their talent to Conference delegates. If you have always wanted a chance to show industry decision-makers what you’re made of, then this is an opportunity not to be missed. All producers are invited to enter. The winning producer will receive a 1 Megapixel DVD Handycam sponsored by Showtime. Download an application from the SPAA website: www.spaa.org.au/conference.

• Holding Redlich Pitching Competition, a highlight of the Conference, encourages all producers and writers to enter their ideas. The winning pitch receives an airfare for one to the Cannes Film Festival or a TV market in 2009, as well as a $2000 cash prize and free registration to the SPAA Conference in 2009. • Emerging Producers Scheme is designed to assist new industry members to attend the Conference at half price and provides an opportunity to meet senior industry figures.
