The body representing US studios and streaming platforms, ANZSA, says the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) should prevent the government from imposing a content quota based on 20 per cent of streaming platform’s revenue.
It represents another escalation of the debate over streaming content quotas, with the government yet to announce its preferred model despite pledging to begin the new regime on July 1.
