BBC Worldwide Australia today announces that Tim Christlieb has been appointed as Head of Programming and Production for BBC Worldwide Channels, Australasia. Tim Christlieb joins the Australian team from the UK-based BBC Worldwide Channels EMEA division, where he was Head of Scheduling for the BBC Worldwide portfolio in the Nordics and Italy. Christlieb will begin his new role with the company in June.
In his new role, Tim will be responsible for the established BBC Worldwide channels in Australia and New Zealand as well as developing long-term strategies for brand building and content management, reporting directly to GM/Director, BBC Worldwide Channels and Branded Services, Australasia, Deirdre Brennan.
“Tim joins the Australasian team with a proven track record of programming success across the BBC Worldwide Channels in Italy and the Nordic region, an extremely diverse territory. We are so pleased that Tim will head up our team and look forward to future successes with our wide ranging channels portfolio in this territory“, said Brennan of Christlieb’s appointment.

Tim Christlieb joined BBC Worldwide as Head of Scheduling, Nordic & Italy in April 2010 and has previously held channels management and scheduling roles with MTV Networks Europe, GTV, NBC Universal’s Sci-Fi Channel UK and Sony/Disney .
BBC Worldwide Australia operates five locally programmed channels across Australia and New Zealand, UKTV, BBC Knowledge and CBeebies in Australia and UKTV NZ and BBC Knowledge in New Zealand.
