Stephen R Smith, co-managing director of Tracks Post Production, is about to embark on a bicycle challenge from London to Paris to raise money for the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick.
The ride starts on 1 June and covers just on 500 kms, over 4 days. Smith is slightly apprehensive about the distance as the furthest he has ever ridden is 90kms. “The only respite from the saddle is the short Channel ferry crossing near the end of day one”. But the charity ride is for a cause close to him.
“My youngest daughter was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease (an inflammatory bowel disease) eleven years ago”, says Smith. “It’s a condition that can be very difficult to control, especially for children through their developing years. The IBD Clinic at the Sydney Children’s Hospital has been essential in helping my daughter, and many other children, manage this incurable condition.”
