US TV lead role for These Final Hours star

These Final Hours’ Nathan Phillips is set to play the lead in Hunters, a US cable series which will start shooting in Melbourne late next month.

Phillips will play a Philadelphia detective and former FBI agent suffering from post traumatic stress disorder whose hallucinations get worse from the stress of his wife going missing.

Commissioned by the US Syfy network, the NBC/Universal Cable Productions' series is based on Whitley Strieber’s novel Alien Hunter, which follows the cop as he uncovers a secret government unit that is hunting a group of ruthless terrorists – shadowy figures that may or may not be from this world.

Last year Phillips had a recurring role in the second series of the FX crime thriller The Bridge alongside Diane Kruger, Demián Bichir, Ted Levine, Matthew Lillard, Emily Rios, Annabeth Gish and Franka Potente.

Matchbox Pictures is producing with Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Entertainment, who is the EP of The Walking Dead. The 13-part drama is scripted by Natalie Chaidez (Heroes, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), who is also an EP.

Phillips is repped by Aran Michael Management, Principato Young Entertainment and Abrams Artists.
