The Hola Mexico Film Festival kicks on with the celebrations for Mexico’s flourishing film industry with the arrival of one of the country’s greatest directors
and winner of Cannes Palme d’Or, Carlos Carrera.
In an exciting first for Australian audiences, Carrera will host Q+A sessions after his film screenings, including his Academy Award-nominated The Crime of Father Amaro (2002), starring Gael Garcia Bernal; the Australian premiere of his most recent film On Childhood (2010) and the film that started it all – Benjamin’s Woman (1991).
Winners can choose from one of the following screenings:
SYDNEY – DENDY CINEMAS, NEWTOWN AND OPERA QUAYS
– On Childhood – Friday 5 November – 9.00pm
– Benjamin's Woman – Saturday 6 November, 6.30pm
– The Crime of Father Amaro – Saturday 6 November, 9.30pm
