Scariacs pilot for kids airs Halloween night

Press release

The premiere broadcast of the upcoming kids' TV suspense drama SCARIACS, screens this Halloween on Nickelodeon.

The pilot episode features two self-contained scary stories for 8 to 13 year olds.

"Bookworm" follows Annabelle as she befriends a book-hungry creature living in her Dad's shed and "Mindspace" has Albert running scared from the authorities with a powerful meteorite he finds in a park.

The pilot was funded by Nickelodeon Australia as part of their Land A Pilot competition in 2008, and the producers are now in negotiations to finance the series.

With additional development investment from Screen NSW in Australia, ROBOTO (the show's creator/producer duo Simon Adams and Shane Elsmore), presented Scariacs at MIPCOM in Cannes this October.

Scariacs was extremely well received by international broadcasters and distributors alike, and Roboto is expecting to have the series underway in 2011.

The Scariacs Halloween special airs on Nickelodeon Australia Oct 31, 7:00pm.
