Press release from Tsuki
The Throw us a Bone campaign for the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home has been awarded a Yellow Pencil at D & AD. This excellent result follows on from a Bronze Lotus win at AdFest in March.
Renowned for their excellent character design and concepts, design and animation house Sixty40 were invited by M&C Saatchi/Mark to be part of this award winning interactive mobile campaign to raise funds and awareness for the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. Sixty40’s lovable character Frankie the Wonder Dog enticed people to donate to the cause through his range of antics from air guitar to juggling chainsaws.
“A huge thank you to Sixty40. It was a brilliant execution which really made the idea work. They put the lead in our pencil!” Ben Welsh, Executive Creative Director M&C Saatchi
"D&AD is the hardest show on earth, so it’s great to have our work part of a project of such international calibre. We were able to get really involved with the creative process the whole way through, and we feel it resulted in some of our best work. And now it’s carving it up on the world stage, how awesome is that!" Matt Taylor, Animation Director Sixty40
The Throw us a Bone campaign created a new, innovative and fun way for the public to have a real-time interaction with a live outdoor advertisement.
The installation stopped passersby’s in their track at Customs House Forecourt at Circular Quay Sydney from 1 – 3 October 2008, successfully raising funds and awareness for the Dogs and Cats Home, as well as an increase in adoptions.
Congratulations to Genevieve Hoey and Hannes Ciatti, M& C Saatchi/Mark, Tigerspike and Moxi Sound who all made this great pro bono project happen.
