"DIK", a nine minute comedy written and directed by Christopher Stollery, has been selected as one of the ten finalists' in the 13th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival (MANHATTAN SHORT) and will represent Australia during the week-long Festival which takes place in over 250 Cinemas spanning 6 Continents Sunday, September 25th through Sunday October 2nd 2011.
This year MANHATTAN SHORT received 598 entries from 48 countries and selected ten Finalists from Hungary, Egypt, Switzerland, Canada, Scotland, Peru, Sweden, two from the USA, and Stollery's "DIK" from Australia completing the ten. These ten shorts will screen over 800 times in Art House Cinemas, Museums and Universities in over 200 cities spanning 6 Continents including 47 states of the USA during one week.
“It was a thrill to screen in Aspen and Palm Springs but not even winning both of those festivals equates to this sort of exposure. This is an amazing opportunity.” Said Stollery.
Our Global Audience Determines the Winner
Audiences at each venue will be handed a voting card and asked to vote for the one film they think should win. Votes are tallied and sent to MANHATTAN SHORT HQ where the winner is announced on Oct 2nd at 10pm EST.
"I've known about Chris's work for over twenty years. He's one of the few filmmakers currently making short comedic films of great quality and story-telling. A film festival is always a happier event when one of his films is in included.
