Foxtel's iPhone and iPad app has added an extra 25 of its channels including live movie channels, Arena, UKTV, FX and 13th STREET, Discovery, Animal Planet, History, Bio and BBC Knowledge.
Foxtel Go now has more than 50 channels of live content and more than 50 channels of catch up programming. Foxtel Go has also added On Demand catch up content from more factual and movie channels including World Movies and Nat Geo WILD.
Broadcasters are being forced to make their content available on multiple platforms to meet growing viewer demand for flexibility. The ABC was one of the first to enter the iPad/iPhone market with its iView app.
There were an estimated 8.67 million smartphone and 4.37 million tablet users in Australia at May 2012, according to the Australian Communications and Media Authority. An estimated 3.65 million used both a mobile phone and a tablet to access the internet.
