In ABC factual series New Leash on Life, comedian Joel Creasey teams up with dog behaviourist Laura V to reduce the number of dogs in pounds.
Across six episodes, Creasey and V work towards a mutual rescue, in which a dog is paired with a new owner.
But these matches can be complex, and V must ensure the dog will work well in the prospective new home, and just as importantly, that the owner is the right fit for the dog.
The Artemis production was financed with the assistance of ABC and Screenwest via the Factual Formats Initiative. Nia Pericles and Hannah Pocock are series producers, with the former also executive producing alongside Celia Tait and ABC executive producer Leo Faber. New Leash on Life will premiere on Tuesday, July 4 at 8pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.
