New Zealand, Denmark and Belgium get a taste of My Kitchen Rules

The success of reality cooking series My Kitchen Rules continues worldwide with recent sales to New Zealand, Denmark and French speaking Belgium.

The sale of the of the Seven Productions format by Endemol Worldwide Distribution marks the ongoing popularity of the show, which to date has already sole to over 160 countries including the UK (Sky), Canada (W Network & Gusto! TV), Asia (NBC), Eastern Europe (SET), Germany (Turner), Latin America (Discovery), Middle East (Fox & Gem) and Netherlands (SBS).

Further deals are also under discussion with Canada and Norway.

Based on the success of Network Ten’s Masterchef Australia, My Kitchen Rules was developed by the Seven Network and was first broadcast in 2010.

The show sees teams of contestants across Australia compete against each other to turn their own homes into ‘instant restaurants’ and are judged on everything from décor to theme to, of course, the quality of food served.

The Australian version is currently in production on season six.

Commenting in a statement released to media, Seven’s Director of Network Production, Brad Lyons, said: “We are delighted that this format continues to resonate in so many territories. We are immensely proud of it and pleased to be working with Endemol in expanding My Kitchen Rules’s presence in the global market-place.”

The format and finished programme are both distributed internationally by Endemol Worldwide Distribution.
