Screen Queensland CEO Maureen Barron has today announced the appointment of Patrick McDonald to the position of Project Manager – Production and Investment.
“This is a new role created to further strengthen Screen Queensland’s partnership with the Queensland screen industry and international connections for Queensland practitioners,” Ms Barron said.
“In this role Mr McDonald will manage production applications and the Revolving Film Finance Fund as well as provide guidance to applicants as part of Screen Queensland’s production and development team led by Meredith Garlick.”
Ms Barron said Mr McDonald would bring a wealth of knowledge to the role, with over 10 years of experience in the industry.
“Mr McDonald recently moved to Australia from Ireland where he worked as head of Business Affairs and Producer for Treasure Entertainment and co-founder of Rubicon Films,” Ms Barron said.
“Prior to this Mr McDonald worked at the Irish Film Board as Business Affairs/Production Executive.”
“Mr McDonald has extensive experience producing feature films including The Mighty Celt and Shrooms.”
“He also has experience in the financing, marketing and distribution of film and television.”
“Mr McDonald’s experience has enabled him to build a broad network of contacts throughout the international industry.”
“With this experience and access to international screen practitioners, Mr McDonald will assist Queensland practitioners in developing and marketing their projects and continue Screen Queensland’s objective of partnering screen industries.”
Mr McDonald will start in his new role 12 April.
