The NSW production sector has received a welcome boost amid the ongoing Greater Sydney lockdown, with the news that HBO Films' 'Days of Abandonment', starring Natalie Portman, will commence filming in the state this month.
HBO Films has pulled the plug on 'Days of Abandonment', less than a week after the Federal Government announced that production on the TV movie was about to start in Sydney.
“Asking your big name leads to come to Australia and spend 14 days in a hotel in lockdown when they are fully vaccinated is a real disincentive."
The NSW screen sector has been dealt a double blow as a result of COVID, with production on Russell Crowe's thriller 'Poker Face' shut down as a result of a confirmed case, while a Netflix project starring Chris Hemsworth that planned to shoot in the state has relocated to Europe.
