"There is no formal tertiary training for note-takers and script coordinators. It’s the sort of thing that people learn on the job. The problem is, how do you get that job without first gaining the skills? And when you do get the chance to be a note-taker in a writers’ room, how do you know what’s expected of you and how to deliver what is required?"
Up to six mid-career screenwriters will have the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles to undergo specialised training and participate in industry events as part of a new initiative from the Australian Writers' Guild and Screen Australia.
