‘The Furies.’
Tony D’Aquino’s debut feature The Furies will premiere in North America on AMC Networks’ genre streaming service Shudder after sales to multiple markets negotiated by Odin’s Eye Entertainment.
The female-driven survival thriller produced by Lisa Shaunessy (2067, Killing Ground) and The Film Distillery’s Andy Marriott follows rebellious high school students Kayla (Airlie Dodds) and her best friend Maddie (Ebony Vagulans), who are abducted by a sinister presence.
Kayla wakes up in a box in the middle of a forest with no idea how she got there or where Maddie is. She soon discovers that men in terrifying masks are stalking six other young women in the woods.
She tries to save as many as she can but when the girls turn on each other, her killer instinct is unleashed. The cast includes Danielle Horvat, Linda Ngo, Taylor Ferguson, Harriet Davies, Kaitlyn Boye and Jessica Baker.
The Furies will premiere on Shudder, home to movies from the likes of John Carpenter, Alfred Hitchcock, Wes Craven, Stanley Kubrick and James Wan, on October 3 as part of its Halloween showcase.
Odin’s Eye will launch the film, the first production from Canberra’s Accelerator Development Pod, in Australian cinemas on November 7 after it opens Monster Fest in six capital cities in October. Studiocanal will handle home entertainment.
Among the other territories which acquired the film are the UK (Signature), France (Factoris), Germany (Splendid), Japan (Open Sesame) and Middle East (Phonencia).
