The nominations for the 68th Golden Globe Awards have been announced, with a number of Australian actors receiving nods.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association released the names of the 2011 nominees earlier today.
Jacki Weaver continued Animal Kingdom’s winning streak, picking up a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Weaver is up against Amy Adams (The Fighter), Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech), Mila Kunis (Black Swan) and Melissa Leo (The Fighter).
She told Reuters she was “absolutely knocked out” by the nomination.
Her performance in David Michôd’s debut feature has already secured her an AFI and an award from the National Board of Review.
An Oscar campaign has already begun.
Nicole Kidman, Geoffrey Rush and Toni Collette have also received recognition.
Kidman is nominated in the Best Actress category for her role as a grieving mother in Rabbit Hole.
Rush received a nod for The King’s Speech while Collette was nominated for the second time for United States of Tara.
The ceremony takes place on January 16.
