Who’s watching The Face?

The premiere of modelling show The Face Australia hosted by Naomi Campbell wasn’t a big drawcard on Fox8 last night.

The Shine Australia production had 40,000 viewers, ranked at No. 18 among the night's top 20 programmes on pay-TV, according to OzTAM.

The most watched shows were Fox Footy’s AFL 360 and Fox8’s The Simpsons, both with 65,000, followed by Fox8’s The Family Guy (60,000) and UKTV’s Coronation Street (58,000).

Repeats of AFL 360 and The Simpsons drew 48,000 and 47,000 viewers respectively. However The Face’s consolidated audiences from repeat viewings and time-shifting will boost the overnight number. For example, Fox8’s America’s Top Model had 68,000 viewers on the previous Tuesday and a consolidated audience of 92,000.

The Face sees three teams of models, each led by a supermodel coach, living the lives of fashion icons, taking part in photo shoots, runway shows and commercials.

The other judges are Australian models Nicole Trunfio and Cheyenne Tozzi . As co-executive producer and one of the model mentors, Campbell leads the hunt for the face of a major Australian brand.
