More international territories are set to share in the adventures of Windmill Pictures’ Beep and Mort, with ABC Commercial securing deals for the series across Canada, the UK, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Both seasons of the children’s program, which follow best friends Beep, a robot from the stars, and Mort, a cuddly creature from village of Mollyvale, have been acquired by Canada’s WildBrain Television for broadcast on its premium kids network Family Jr. Season one premiered in early September, and season two is due to follow in the coming months.

ABC Commercial has also finalised a deal with Sky Kids in the UK for the second season, which will premiere early this year. It comes after the first season became one of the first programs to air on the Sky Kids ad-free linear channel aimed at pre-schoolers, launched earlier this year, as well as being available to watch on-demand for Sky Kids customers.

A further deal inked with Qatar’s beIN Media Group will make the series available to audiences throughout more than 20 territories across the Middle East and North Africa. Launching this year on the beIN NEO channel, the episodes will be available in both English and Arabic via both broadcast and on-demand services.

The deals mark another milestone for the title, which premiered on ABC Kids in October 2022.

Directed by Rosemary Myers, and produced by Kaye Weeks, Beep and Mort features production design by the AACTA award-winning Jonathon Oxlade and original music by Harry Covill.

Such was the response to the first season that the ABC Kids team fast-tracked the development and commissioning of a second, which premiered in Australia in November.

ABC content sales manager Karen Quinn said the new episodes continued to explore themes around friendship and self-discovery while doubling down on the fun.

“The level of care invested by the team at Windmill Pictures in creating this enticing story world is second-to-none, and we’re very pleased to see kids and families around the world open their hearts to this special program,” she said.
