SBS’s coverage of cycling including the 2011 Tour de France was recognised at the Australian Sports Commission Media Awards last night, taking home the award for Best Coverage of Sport by an Organisation – Broadcast Media.
Michael Tomalaris was acknowledged for his role in SBS’s broadcast of the 2011 Tour de France, being awarded Best Coverage of Sport by an Individual – Broadcast Media.
Word News Australia reporter Luke Waters was awarded Best Coverage of Women in Sport for his story ‘A belt that fits’ about female boxer Diana Prazak, who is the first Australian woman to win a world boxing title.
