The COOLPIX A is aimed at passionate photography and videography enthusiasts who normally use a DSLR and want superior image and video quality in a camera that is small enough to keep with them wherever they go. The COOLPIX A is equipped with a new wide-angle 18.5mm, f/2.8 (equivalent to a 28mm angle of view in 35mm [135] format) fixed focal length NIKKOR lens designed exclusively for the COOLPIX A. It also includes a DX-format CMOS sensor for the ease and portability of a compact digital camera with the superior rendering capabilities of a digital SLR camera.
Nikon continues to expand its range of cameras with wireless capabilities– the COOLPIX A is compatible with the optional WU-1a wireless adapter, offering live view, remote shooting and wireless transfer of images to smart devices.
With the high resolution 16.2 megapixel DX CMOS sensor combined with the bright f/2.8 Nikkor lens, the COOLPIX A adopts an image sensor unit designed without an optical low-pass filter to deliver exquisite detail and image quality.
